Signal-Return's annual holiday card jam is tonight

Posted By on Fri, Dec 4, 2015 at 11:17 AM

Eastern Market's letterpress workshop, Signal-Return, wants to make sure you've got something unique to give out this holiday season. And what's most unique than hand-pressed cards that you made inside their shop?

Their holiday card jam takes place tonight from 6 to 9 p.m. and you can print as many cards as your heart desires for $3 a pop. The event is free and there will be music, punch, and popcorn. It's kid-friendly, but the little ones will generally need to keep their hands off the printing presses.

The shop will also be open late, so there will be time for shopping too.

If you can't make this evening's event, Signal-Return also partnered with AIGA to host another holiday letterpress workshop on Sunday. That holiday card class costs $90 and you go home with 10-15 cards of your own creation plus a belly full of lunch. For more info on that event, click here

Signal-Return opened just four short years ago, but has become a staple in Eastern Market, serving as a place for artists to gather and connect while preserving the tradition of handset printmaking.

It's located at 1345 Division St. #102, Detroit.
