Every December Handmade Detroit puts on the absolutely enormous Detroit Urban Craft Fair. It hosts 100 vendors and takes place inside the Masonic Temple. The two-day event allows shoppers to peruse goods that might otherwise only be able to buy online, meet with crafters, and generally enjoy the company of other DIY- and craft-lovers.

Toledo, Detroit's neighbor to the south, has a similar faction called Handmade Toledo. They're putting on a spring craft show that's not unlike Handmade Detroit's DUCF in size, scale, and objective, except it will be taking place in the sunny spring, rather than the snowy days before Christmas and it'll be helping shoppers get a fresh start for spring, rather than a jump on their holiday shopping.

Maker's Mart will take place on Saturday, April 18 from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. and Sunday, April 19 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The fair will feature more than 80 vendors, plus local coffee vendors and food trucks.

Chances are you'll see new lines and products from crafters, plus things will likely be less hectic than during the holiday season, meaning you might be able to squeeze your favorite vendor for a very special custom order than they might not have had time for during the Christmas rush.

Click here for a definitive list of who will be at the show. We noticed the list includes Michigan crafters like All Things Grow, Harvesting Hart, Arthur's Plaid Pants, Kill Taupe, Earthenwood, Cool Critters, and Mitten Made.

The Marker's Mart takes place at 1717 Adams Street in Uptown Toledo and there is a $1 suggested donation upon entry. For more info, check out this little blog Handmade Detroit did on the event
