'The Crow' gets reboot — maybe

Posted By on Sat, Feb 28, 2015 at 2:05 PM

According to Deadline, the long-awaited reboot for The Crow is finally starting to take shape. Relativity Studios is reportedly in talks with Jack Huston (of Boardwalk Empire fame) to play the lead role, made iconic by the late Brandon Lee (who died in an accident on the set of the original 1994 film).

Though perhaps we should file this under "we'll believe it when we see it." As io9 points out, a Crow resurrection has been in the pipes since it was first announced in 2008, with director Corin Hardy currently the fifth director attached to the project.

The Crow, of course, was originally a comic book by Detroit native James O’Barr. Set in Detroit, Devil’s Night factored heavily into the story — the titular character is born when he comes back from the grave after he and his fiance are slain during a Devil's Night crime spree. O’Barr is reportedly set to serve as a consultant for the reboot.

There was talk of shooting the reboot in Detroit, but Relativity Studios did not return our calls on Friday to confirm.
