The world is a sound source to the shadowy figures lurking in Nineteen Point Five Collective, and they’re not afraid to use it thusly. Combining elements of the visual, aural and ether, Nineteen Point Five Collective’s debut album boasts individual cuts that are little soundworlds unto themselves, populated by hallmarks of techno, ambient, avant-electronic, found-sound collage, film soundtrack and, yeah, maybe a slight nod to rock. But the whole package is, indeed, a collective. When the group performs live, it’s a sensory-enchanting experience with film, sound and atmosphere. Expect great things from this wide-roving pack of artful technophiles.
