So you’ve never heard of the band The War and Treaty. The soulful duo comprised of Michael Trotter Jr. and Tanya Blount make Alabama Shakes look like Mumford and Sons. Between Trotter’s incredible backstory (he was an Iraq war veteran who was encamped in one of Saddam Hussein’s secret palaces when he rediscovered his voice) and Blount’s beautifully rich range and emotive chords, it really doesn’t get better than this. Oh, right. And they’re married! Catch this love story on Ferndale’s newest stage.

Show starts at 9 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 5 at Otus Supply; 4345 E. Nine Mile Rd., Ferndale; otussupply.com; Tickets range $12-17.
