Last summer’s booze slushy craze took over Detroit’s favorite spots with grown up versions of the classic summer drink. During the long, bleak winter the city’s bars have honed their recipes and announced this summer’s hottest (or maybe coolest?) new flavors:

Motor City Wine: One of the hippest bars in town brings equally
hip booze slushies. This year’s new mango and Prosecco slushy option is as
sweet and bright as it is bougie. For a twist on last summer’s trendy drink (a Stiegl-Radler graprefruit beer with a shot of Campari) try the slightly bitter, slightly sweet Radler-Campari slushy. If you ask nicely, they will add a short pour of rosé on top for an extra buzz.

Honest ? John's: Following last year’s Moscow Mule success, Midtown’s
casual watering hole stuck to another classic this year and debuted a
strawberry daiquiri slushy. Living true to their “Sobriety Sucks” motto, these slushies don’t skimp on the booze.

Marble Bar: This is the venue’s first pass at the slushy trend. Their piña colada got high praise from Metro Times staff for being a strong and well-balanced rendition of a classic, which bodes well for the classic margarita flavor. For something a little different, the orange creamsicle slushy uses orange-flavored Redbull for an extra boost.

Gold Cash Gold: Two new craft slushy flavors were announced
at the Corktown restaurant’s patio party in April. The Grace O’Malley combines
Tullamore Dew whiskey with black tea, orange, oleo saccharum, and nutmeg in a spicy, chai-inspired slush. The Erotic blends gin into a refreshing floral and
fruity slushy with maraschino, crème de violette, and lemon.

The Skip: The Standby-affiliated bar in The Belt alley
offers frozen summer drinks all year round, like the cucumber margarita (add in a 7oz Coronita for just $4 more), or the Irish coffee made with Old Forester
whiskey and Intelligentsia cold brew coffee.

Punch Bowl Social: For a creamier alternative to the summer
slushy trend, try the Malted Maple Royale from the Adult Milkshakes menu with Crown Royal Maple, malted milk, vanilla soft serve and nutmeg topped with whipped cream and candied bacon.
