They call themselves the "Michigan culinary Olympia team" and they're coming to the Menagerie this Thursday.

A.S.P.ire Culinary Gold is made up of Chef Jeremy Abbey, Chef Matt Schellig, and John Piazza and they'll be whipping up a six-course dinner on July 9.

The six courses will include handmade grilled flatbread and cornbread with pork rillettes, red pepper jam, and mission fig mostarda; smoked Michigan trout with picked vegetables and sauce gribiche; summer salad with arugula and sorrel; ravioli ovo; sous vide shoulder tender served with grilled heirloom tomatoes, mushrooms, corn, and chimichurri; and an orange creamsicle panna cotta for dessert.

While no alcohol will be served with dinner, the event is BYOB, according to the Menagerie's website. The dinner starts at 6 p.m. at 31 N. Saginaw St., Detroit.

Tickets are $45 per person and sales will close Wednesday morning. To purchase tickets call 248-648-1505.

This event is part of a pop-up series that includes upcoming dates with Larissa Popa, John Breeland, Reid Shipman, Jared Bobkins, Jeremy Kalmus, and Erin Lee. Click here for more info.
