Yum Village throws a fixed-price five-course dinner downtown

Posted By on Tue, Mar 24, 2015 at 12:44 PM

We narrowly missed including this in our print edition, but you should know about a fixed-price table d'hôte meal happening this Thursday. It's called Yum Village, and it gives Detroit's culinary upstarts a chance to bask in the spotlight — and gives diners a chance to share what they think. It's just like your typical communal-seating pop-up, but with chef as contestant and diners as judge. The menu put together by Thursday's chef, Steve Kempner, looked appetizing indeed, including blue cheese gnocchi, ratatouille, flounder en papillote and more. If that weren't enough to entice you, consider that a percentage of all proceeds goes to benefit Colors Restaurant, among other nonprofits.

Get your reservations now, because it all happens at 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 26, at Colors Restaurant, 311 E. Grand River Ave., Detroit; tickets are $55 per person, $90 per couple, at yumvillage.com.
