 The Detroit Pop Shop
    Address Varies
The Detroit Pop Shop is an awesome little popsicle stand that offers incredible handcrafted popsicles that put those store bought ice pops to shame. Locally sourced ingredients, healthy selections and inventive recipes come together to create delicious popsicles like Watermelon Basil, Grapefruit Haberñero, and Chocolate Avocado. You can feel good about splurging a few icy treats at one of the stands, too- the stands are operated by the Detroit Food Academy, a nonprofit that empowers Detroit youth through entrepreneurial food experiences. The popsicle stand appears regularly at the Eastern Market and other Detroit areas, location information can be found on DPS’ Facebook and Twitter.

Pupusería y Restaurante Salvadoreño, 3149 Livernois Ave
If you've never heard of a pupusa, make a mental note to try one at this Salvadoran eatery. Well, maybe make an actual note, in case you forget after a long night of barhopping. Pupusas are pancake-esque pieces of dough stuffed with thick gooey cheese, pork, and a range of other fillings. Unique to the cuisine of El Salvador, these hidden gems are little pillows of love and tastiness. (Photo via Ashley M., Yelp)
