The Detroit City Football Club isn't done yet

Soccer was a pretty big deal in Detroit this summer. People filled Cadillac Square for World Cup Viewing Parties and everyone and their brother went to a Detroit City Football Club game. The season is coming to an end, but the DCFC still has something up its sleeve. On Saturday, Sept. 13 the club will hold a soccer match to solidify 2014 as the "Summer of Soccer."

The match, to be held at Cass Tech field at 2501 2nd Ave., Detroit, will benefit the Cass Tech and Detroit Renaissance High School boys soccer programs. The doubleheader will have Le Rouge facing the Ann Arbor Soccer Club at 5:30 p.m., followed by a Detroit Public Schools match between the Technicians and the Phoenix at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $5 and a portion of the proceeds will go toward the two soccer programs. 

This isn't the first time DCFC has gotten involved with DPS soccer. They donated uniforms to the Technicians and have sunk tens of thousands of dollars into the field at Cass Tech. The club also runs the Detroit City Futbol League, a recreational co-ed league that plays at Historic Fort Wayne.
