Last year, attorney and contest organizer Walter Bentley had over 600 applications pour in from metro Detroit residents— and 400 more from other couples across the country. He expects to see at least that many again this year, though he says the applicant must be from Michigan to win.
"People want to move on. I'm trying to help them have a very happy Valentines Day for 2015, by taking care of their past and putting an end to that in 2014," Bentley recently told Click on Detroit. "Valentine's Day is a tough day for people who are in a relationship, but don't want to be," he added.
To apply, visit the Bentley Law website to fill out a brief form and explain why you deserve the prize, valued between $3000 to $5000.
