Remember (if) you saw it (them) here first: Documenting Germany, a two-week festival of German cinema, begins this Monday, July 16 with Klaus Kinski: My Best Fiend, Werner Herzog’s 1999 documentary on his strange relationship with the eccentric actor. But it’s only the first of 11 great films from the disturbing Fatherland to be shown at 368 Manoogian Hall on the Wayne State University campus, each day at 2 p.m. The complete schedule follows:

Friday, 20: double feature: Nosferatu (1922, dir. F.W. Murnau) and The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (1919, dir. Robert Wiene)

Monday, 23: The Tin Drum (1979, dir. Jean-Claude Carrière)

Tuesday, 24: The Nasty Girl (1990, dir. Michael Verhoeven)

Wednesday, 25: Das Boot (1982, dir. Wolfgang Petersen)

Thursday, 26: Wings of Desire (1988, dir. Wim Wenders)

Friday, 27: Run Lola Run (1999, dir. Tom Tykwer)
