Attention Motor City writers, poets, painters, sculptors, ceramicists, metal smiths, photographers, printmakers, zinesters, bloggers, architects, et cetera, et cetera: Next year, Kresge Arts in Detroit will give 18 artists $25,000 awards to spend however they like to realize their creative visions. 2015's fellowships will focus on the literary and visual arts.

The application process opened on Oct. 30 and concludes on Jan. 22, 2015. The fellowships are open to any artists 18 years or older who are current legal residents of the tri-county area. Applicants must have resided in metro Detroit for at least two years, and must intend to retain residence in the area throughout the year-long fellowship period.
