Ya gotta like the fact that the Michigan Green Party’s newly nominated U.S. Senate candidate has a name ready made for politics. With Jam Rag publisher Tom Ness stepping aside to take on the less stressful task of running for Congress against Sandy Levin, it will be Livonia attorney Matthew Abel vying for the Senate seat against Rep. Debbie Stabenow and incumbent Sen. Spence Abraham.

Matt’s campaign slogan? “Raise Cain — Vote Abel!”
