Frog wild The group Friends of the Rouge River is holding a field trip Saturday, Aug. 27, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will be held at the Novi Wetland Mitigation Bank, which is located at the northeast corner of West Park Drive and West Road. Standing tall The group Voice for Recovery is inviting everyone in the Detroit area to mark National Alcohol & Drug Addiction Recovery Month by participating in two downtown events being held Friday, Sept. 16. The Fifth Annual Celebrate Recovery Walk & Rally kicks off at Hart Plaza with the walk part beginning at 9 a.m. The rally will be held from noon to 2 p.m. at the Cobo conference and exhibition center. River ride The Citizens Environmental Alliance is holding its Eighth Annual State of the Detroit River Boat Tour on Saturday, Sept. 17, and the group wants you on board. Detroit radio personality and longtime lefty rabble-rouser Peter Werbe will be back as master of ceremonies. There will be several guest speakers discussing a variety of issues related to the rivers health and surrounding ecosystem.
