No joke

When politics seems like a bad joke, jokes seem a good way to stay informed. A survey earlier this year by the Pew Research Center for the People and the Press found that 47 percent of American under 30 report learning about the presidential campaign by way of late-night talk shows like Jay Leno’s and David Letterman’s; 13 percent of the under-30s said they regularly got information that way, 34 percent sometimes. Similarly, for under-30s, 25 percent learned about the race from MTV and 37 percent from comedy shows. News Hits wonders whether we need a truth-in-punch lines act?
