MOCAD announced a new Curator of Education and Public Engagement in Amy Corle, who arrives at MOCAD after 25 years at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago.
Her resume looks pretty sweet:
As the Director of Visitor Engagement at MCA, Corle created and managed a suite of 50 innovative artist-activated, audience-engaged public programs in partnership with outside organizations, community groups, and the curatorial, performance, education and marketing departments of the MCA. Programs incorporated music (Tuesdays on the Terrace, Face the Strange (where Kim Gordon played), Magical Musical Showcase), literature (Literary Gangs of Chicago), art-making activities (Doodleganza: The Drawing Extravaganza), games (Bingo Tango), talks (Cabinet of Curiosities, Internet Superheroes), and social mixers (First Fridays). Her well-known jazz series, Tuesdays of the Terrace, has been quoted by the Chicago Tribune as a must-see during summer months and is one of the largest and most respected jazz programs in the city of Chicago. She is a live wire due to start conducting electricity on March 3, 2014. Please join MOCAD in welcoming her to our great city!
