We have to thank a former staffer’s Facebook page for alerting us to an article at Artnet.com that quotes a posting at the Cremaster Fanatic fan page that cites a Craigslist ad from artist Matthew Barney’s studio described as follows:

The ad sought "women, men and couples/groups to act in a 13 minute erotic short," to be shot in Detroit, Aug. 5-7, 2011. "Acting experience, an alternative or retro look, and an exhibitionistic nature are all pluses," it read. "You will be asked to set your limits."

Barney is the artist behind the much commented-on Cremaster films

(subject of an MT cover story back when the series showed at the DFT in 2003), who last fall wrapped up a two-year film project in Detroit, which involved a number of local artists and musicians. (He’s also the husband to and sometimes collaborator with singer Bjork.)

For the record, our Craiglist search didn’t come up with ad so-described. So maybe it’s just too late for us.
