Fifty protests around the U.S. are planned for Saturday, March 24 as part of a national network called March for our Lives. The demonstrations are a direct response to the Parkland, Fla. shooting during which 17 people were killed inside Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.
While students are calling for stricter gun control, the Trump administration continues to explore a program that would arm teachers — putting guns in the classroom.
In an effort to prove they're serious about getting U.S. guns laws under control, Parkland students have organized this network of protests in order to demand their lives and safety become a priority for the country's politicians.
In Detroit, that protest begins at 11 a.m. on Atwater Street. For more information, you can
