Ever wonder what a day in the life at Metro Times is like? Well, now is your chance, because we're currently accepting new applications for our internship program.

As an editorial intern, you will receive hands-on experience working in a newsroom which includes pitching stories, transcribing interviews, and editing copy. This internship can be everything you want it to be if you are willing to work at it. Don't walk through the doors of Metro Times expecting to be making coffee for our staff — you're far more valuable to us than our morning cup of joe.

Be ready to research and dive into news and events in the metro area to find the latest breaking news, or craft a curated blog to show the world why your opinion matters. The sky's the limit, covering everything from local politics to food blogs or concert announcements and art gallery openings.

Our internships can be applied toward college credit and are open to dedicated writers and journalists who would like to pursue an internship with a Detroit publication. We request that interns be available 12-15 hours per week and are able to work out of our Midtown Detroit office.

If you think you have what it takes, you can apply for our photo or editorial internship here.

Stay on top of Detroit news and views. Sign up for our weekly issue newsletter delivered each Wednesday.
