Driving down to Eastern Market this morning, we noticed that this canopy cover was all off-kilter. At first, we thought maybe some high-minded art types had been given free rein to refigure this frontage. But it soon became apparent, thanks to the yellow "caution" tape and a few troubleshooters ready to tackle this trouble, that  it can come down in the early morning's storm. One person on the scene was quick to point out that the building was not structurally compromised, only the failed facade needed fixing.

It seemed to be one of the few bits of damage from last night's storms, aside from morning reports of basement flooding. Most of the surface flooding seemed confined to seldom-used streets, such as this stretch of Farnsworth west of St. Aubin.
