Jaye the jailbird

News Hits is happy to see state Sen. David Jaye, R-Washington Twp., isn’t letting his recent legal problems, or that beating he took in a Florida jail, distract him from his official duties. Just last week, while colleagues were trying to decide whether he should be expelled, Jaye sent out a press release announcing his efforts to have photos of convicted sex offenders posted on the Web.

We only wonder why the law-and-order Jayebird is drawing the line at perverts. Certainly the good senator must realize the public benefit of putting the mugs of drunk drivers on the Web. And what about guys who punch out their wives and girlfriends? Wouldn’t it be helpful if women could type the name of a new beau into a search engine to see if he has a history of abuse?

Just think of all the women who could avoid getting hooked up with bad actors. Take a good look in the mirror, Dave, and then give the idea some thought.
