It's Miller time on Comedy Central

For those of you in need of a laugh to lift sagging spirits — and we imagine there are lot of you, given what’s being going down in Lansing these past few days — we offer this clip from a recent episode of Comedy Central’s The Daily Show featuring U.S. Rep. Candice Miller, a Republican from Harrison Township. After selecting only white men to head a whole host of committees, Speaker John Boehner tapped Miller to chair the, shall we say, less than prestigious House Administration Committee.

After ably ripping on the GOP for the incredible lack of diversity found among those in House leadership positions, show host Jon Stewart applied a precise needle to puncture any illusion of importance regarding Miller’s appointment earlier this week.

“She will be the chair of the House Administration Committee, whose responsibilities apparently range from making Congress more open and accessible to ensuring the House runs efficiently and smoothly,” quipped Stewart. “So we’ve got a woman to be, to coin a phrase, the House wife. Problem solved.”
