After ably ripping on the GOP for the incredible lack of diversity found among those in House leadership positions, show host Jon Stewart applied a precise needle to puncture any illusion of importance regarding Miller’s appointment earlier this week.
“She will be the chair of the House Administration Committee, whose responsibilities apparently range from making Congress more open and accessible to ensuring the House runs efficiently and smoothly,” quipped Stewart. “So we’ve got a woman to be, to coin a phrase, the House wife. Problem solved.”
