In the hood

Do you want to know which Detroit mayoral candidate will best tend to the city’s neighborhoods? So does The Detroit Historical Neighborhood Coalition. The group will ask the candidates how they will revitalize the hoods at a forum it is planning for July. And they need your input. If you belong to a neighborhood organization and have questions you want the candidates to address, get involved. For more information, call DHNC president Darrell Stewart at 313-492-4466.

P.S. Don’t forget to attend the information meeting and hearing on the city’s plans to build a $100 million solid-waste incinerator in southwest Detroit. The information meeting is scheduled for June 28 at 4:30 p.m. in Detroit at the Delray United Action Council Center, 7914 W. Jefferson; the hearing is to begin at 7 p.m. this same day and place.
