Lest we forget, the bulk of the damage New Orleans experienced in 2005 was the result of flooding, caused by multiple breached and broken levees

This might be something to keep in mind as we watch our highways and homes flood this summer. Infrastructure desperately needs to be updated. We can not and should not live with continued flooding, as we have experienced the last few weeks. But you know what can live with it? Mold.

It's unacceptable.

While we here in Michigan need not worry about hurricanes, we do need to think about strong storms and a crumbing, neglected infrastructure.

And we must take action now, before more damage, that could have and should have been and can be mitigated, occurs.
