If you live near Michigan and Lonyo, you may have noticed that some ladies of the evening have been looking unusually upscale lately. Detroit police officer Dave Malhalab has noticed. Last week, Malhalab called News Hits after seeing two prostitutes who looked so fine his partner didn’t want to leave the area. The police veteran, who works at the 6th Precinct, says that it was the first time in his 18-year career that he saw prostitutes who did not look strung-out and in serious need of a few personal hygiene tips. Officers at another nearby precinct have also noticed an upgrade, reported Malhalab, who speculates the change could be attributed to a certain new industry.
“Casinos may be bringing a new class of women to Detroit,” he says.
News Hits can only look forward to the opening of the Greektown Casino across from Metro Times’ world headquarters with heightened anticipation.
