'Hamilton' announces digital lottery for $10 tickets to all Detroit performances

The hit Broadway play Hamilton is coming to Detroit, and the competition for tickets is fierce.

The historical hip-hop musical depicts the life of founding father of Alexander Hamilton. Lin Manuel-Miranda's Tony award-winning musical will find a home in Detroit for a six-week engagement at the Fisher Theatre, starting March 12 through April 21.

Broadway in Detroit and Hamilton producer Jeffrey Seller announced Wednesday that the play would be offering a digital lottery for the Detroit run. Forty tickets will be made available for each Detroit performance for just $10 (compared to regularly priced tickets which can fetch up to hundreds of dollars).

The lottery will open at 11 a.m. EST two days before each performance and will close at 9 a.m. EST the day before the scheduled show. Patrons hoping to purchase the $10 tickets must be 18 years or older to enter the digital lottery and only two tickets may be purchased.

Hamilton fans can register for the lottery at hamiltonmusical.com/lottery. The first lottery will open on Sunday, March 10 for the performance on Tuesday, March 12.

Regularly priced tickets and best available seating for April performances are currently on sale at ticketmaster.com.
