The Detroit Anti-War Network is scheduled to hold a rally at the Detroit News building on West Lafayette on Saturday, Nov. 17, at 1 p.m., to protest the U.S. bombing of Afghanistan. Organizers chose the News building to also protest the media’s “biased coverage of the war,” says Charles Simmons, a DAWN member. “The media is acting as a cheerleader to the Pentagon.” News Hits reserves its pompoms for the peacemakers.
