George Cvetanovski, the owner of Hamtramck’s Seven Brothers Bar, has reportedly died.

The news was shared Wednesday night by actor Sam Richardson (of Comedy Central's Detroiters), who had a close relationship with Cvetanovski.

“A dear friend of mine George passed away today. He owned and ran 7 Brothers bar in Hamtramck, MI," Richardson wrote in an Instagram post. "It was the ‘Detroit actors bar’ and the very first bar I became a regular at.”

Seven Brothers Bar was a timeless watering hole beloved by the Detroit theater crowd for nearly 40 years. It closed down in 2016 after Cvetanovski decided to retire.

No additional details on Cvetanovski’s death were available at this time.
