'Detroit: Unbroken Down' seeks humanity amid the ruins

Photographer Dave Jordano , a native Detroiter, is featuring his images of the city and its people in a new exhibit at New York's United Photo Industries called Detroit: Unbroken Down. The show has been the gallery's best-attended yet, United Photo Industries says.

“I just was getting an ill feeling about seeing all this work in Detroit because I’m sort of from there originally and grew up there, and I just felt there was an element of, a human connection that was missing,” Jordano tells CBS Detroit. "I wanted to photograph people, photograph neighborhoods and show that there was life and pace and activity within the city that a lot of people had been ignoring."

More photos from the exhibit can be found on Jordano's website.
