The Detroit Film Theatre, inside the Detroit Institute of Arts, will reopen on Friday, Oct. 10 after being closed for the summer for upgrades and renovations.
The theater will open its season with 2013's A Master Builder, a Jonathan Demme-directed film adapted from Henrik Ibsen's play. The film stars Wallace Shawn, Julie Hagerty, Lisa Joyce, and Larry Pine.
The film will show Friday and Saturday, Oct. 10-11 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 12 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $8.50 or $6.50 for DIA members, seniors, and students.
The DFT also plans to show Jealousy, Through A Lens Darkly, A Summer's Tale, 20,000 Days on Earth, Dead of Night, The Manxman, and other films this season. Check www.dia.org/detroitfilmtheatre for more info.
