For whatever reason, our culture demands that we worship blond, white women. Consider Marilyn Monroe in the 1950s, Farrah Fawcett in the 1970s and Pam Anderson in the 1990s. As a testament to our worship, we buy things associated with these blond icons ... even if these things don’t seem to have anything to do with the people. For example, there is the Marilyn Monroe Intimate Allure Collection of leather furniture from The Leather Center. For $2,100-$2,600 (depending on the type of leather), you can allegedly “create glamour” in your own home with the Scarlet Kiss Chaise. It doesn’t even have Monroe’s picture on it — it is just a red couch.
