BBC: Bicycling through Detroit is awesome


Here's something refreshing: A piece of writing on Detroit that doesn't bash it or unduly dwell on its problems. A "Travel" piece on BBC's website offers an account by Joe Baur of participating in one of Stephen Johnson’s bicycle-based Motor City Brew Tours. Maybe the points are already known well enough to this city's cyclists, but it's a pleasure to see somebody enjoying a ride through Detroit, posting attractive photos, and walking that fine line between critic and Pollyanna we don't see often enough.
