The world is full of idiots. And many of them are very loud.

This simple premise is one of the driving forces behind the genius of, a blog run by two New York City men who collect and post snippets of stupidity, irony and insight overheard in the streets of the Big Apple.

Behold this exchange, which was overheard on the subway:

Dumb teen: Hey, look at this! It says “Train for jobs in beeyotch.”

Smarter teen: Fool! That word is biotech. Why you gotta be ignorant all your life?

Or this, uttered in Union Square:

Woman #1: It’s really small, you know, but the sex is wonderful.

Woman #2: You mean he’s rich?

Woman #1: Yeah. Exactly.

Everyone is anonymous on the site, christened with identifiers like “Hipster,” “Dude” or “Drunk NYU chick.” The site has generated enough gems to yield a book, which is now available on Amazon, and has inspired a rash of imitation sites, among them,,, and

And it’s not just cities, either — there’s also, with little slices of the corporate life such as this:

Co-worker #1: Oh, you look nice. Are you going somewhere?

Co-worker #2: No, I just never went home last night.
