The Detroit chapter of Al Sharpton's National Action Network plans to protest in front of the building that Atwater Brewing Company and Tangerine Supper Club share at 5:30 this afternoon.
According to a press release, the network has been following the story of Darnell Small and Tangerine Supper Club, one we've been continuously reporting on since Small entered into a legal battle with his landlord, Mark Reith of Atwater Brewing Company and Rivertown Holdings.
In short, Small alleges that Reith hopes illegally to evict him from the space he uses to operate Tangerine Room so that it can be used for Atwater Brewing Company business.
The press release, sent by Small's P.R. company, says the network is "planning to rally a public protest in light of the what Mark Reith and Atwater Brewing is doing and bring attention to the problems of race, inclusion, and treatment of African American businesses in downtown Detroit."
Atwater Brewing Company and Tangerine Room are located at 237 Jos Campau, Detroit.
