ACCESS hosting job fair Wednesday featuring over 40 employers

Dearborn-based ACCESS, an Arab-American human services nonprofit, will sponsor a job fair in Detroit Wednesday.

ACCESS says more than 40 employers will be featured  from a vast array of fields, including education, banking, human services and more -- "with several hundred positions to fill."

Representatives from AAA, Meijer, Quicken Loans, the Detroit Police Department, the Navy, U.S. Customs and Border Patrol, MGM Grand Detroit casino, Bank of America, Lowe's, the University of Michigan, and more are expected to be on-site.

"We're hoping this event helps the people in the community and others looking for work," Chet Pitts, business employment services representative at ACCESS, said in a statement. "I look forward to helping Detroiters become aware of the exciting openings available in our region."

Candidates are asked to bring multiple copies of their resume and be prepared to interview with recruiters. Besides the job fair, ACCESS says representatives from Eastern Michigan University, the Detroit Local Training Center, and other local colleges and universities will be available to meet with prospective students.

The fair is free and open to the public. It's scheduled to run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Fellowship in Chapel at 7704 W. Outer Drive in Detroit.
