Mark Wahlberg has a soft spot for the Midwest.

The Departed actor first got his taste for Detroit while filming scenes for 2014's Transformers: Age of Extinction. Since then, he's been loud and proud regarding his love for the city and opened a Greektown franchise location of his burger-joint, Wahlburgers, in 2016 and a second spot in Taylor earlier this year. He's even gone so far as to openly threaten to call up Amazon's Jeff Bezos to persuade him to select Detroit for HQ2.

Although the Bezos bid was a bust, Wahlberg isn't giving up on the Motor City just yet. Instead of burgers, though, Wahlberg has his eyes set on owning car dealerships.

Yesterday, Wahlberg christened the new Mark Wahlberg Chevrolet dealership in Columbus, Ohio after partnering with metro Detroit car dealer, Jay Feldman.

In a statement to the Detroit Free Press, Wahlberg says he has plans to expand. When asked about a Detroit location, the 47-year-old says it's promising.

"I want to be as close to and involved in the Midwest as I can, so, yes, this is the first of, I don’t want to say many, but a few."
