Our hometown football team has a new leader. Today, rumors were confirmed and an official announcement came down that former defensive coordinator for the New England Patriots, Matt Patricia, will be the new Detroit Lions head coach.

In case you were too distracted by Patriots coach Bill Belichick’s cut-off sweater during last night's Super Bowl, Patricia was that bearded dude hanging out on the sidelines, whispering cautiously behind his clipboard.

Many sports analysts have immediately taken to the internet sports dungeons to discuss how this marks the beginning of the end for Matt McBeardyface, but hey, losing the Big Game might just make him uniquely qualified for the role — Detroit is the Comeback City, after all.
