Metro Times is proud to announce Dustin Blitchok as the new editor-in-chief of the paper.

Blitchok, 26, previously worked as a reporter at The Oakland Press, where he covered Pontiac during the turbulent emergency manager era, and as communications director for Oakland County Treasurer Andy Meisner.

His first day on the job will be February 25. Vince Grzegorek, editor-in-chief at Euclid Media Group sister paper Cleveland Scene, had served as interim editor since early 2015.

"Metro Times is the authority on Detroit culture, nightlife and news that you can't find anywhere else. I'm thrilled to say I'm joining as editor-in-chief and excited to start working with the staff on stories that are just as dynamic as metro Detroit itself," Blitchok said.

"We were exceedingly impressed with Dustin's abilities, knowledge of Detroit, and his ideas for bringing both to the Metro Times," said Metro Times regional publisher Chris Keating. "We're excited for Dustin to get started with the talented MT team."

When Dustin's not at work, you can find him manning the jukebox at the Bronx Bar or out shopping for more rock records to add to shelves that are ready to collapse. He lives in Midtown.
