Over the years we’ve watched as investigative reporter Curt Guyette got ahold of a story and just wouldn’t let go. That’s the way he operated during the 18 years he worked at this rag, and things haven’t changed a bit now that he’s plying his trade over at the ACLU of Michigan.

We think it’s safe to say he’s never latched on to a story as big or important as the one he’s been pursuing in Flint (and covering for the MT) for the past several months: Kids getting lead poisoned because of a money-saving decision to start drawing drinking water from the Flint River.

The connection between that dreadful decision and the state’s anti-democratic emergency manager law is impossible to miss. Flint residents got official denials that there was a problem when there clearly was one, followed by adamant refusal on the part of the governor to affix blame and hold accountable those responsible for creating a tragedy that could have, and should have, been completely avoided.

And now we see the cover-your-ass denials, finger-pointing and outright lies.

Here are the latest revelations from Guyette, posted on his Democracy Watch blog.
