GOP ads show how to alienate the very constituency you're courting

So you're telling me that voting GOP is like this blonde choosing a wedding gown?

If you haven't seen it yet, the election season's latest ad campaign courting teen voters is really something to look at. It's actually a series of identical ads, with a sort of "insert candidate here" style. Ostensibly made to appeal to teenage female voters, the ads are so ham-handed, so dismissive of female intellect, so unbelievably ridiculous, you'll find yourself asking, "Is this serious? Is this satire?"

It's an ad so bad it has Democrats rubbing their hands with glee. And why not? Politics are confusing and boring, right? And all young women need to understand is that voting is like choosing a wedding dress.

And that Mom and her Democratic politics are so uncool.

The College Republican National Committee's national chairman Alex Smith, who was one of the people behind the ads, said, “It’s our goal to start the conversation by presenting ourselves in a culturally relevant way.”

Which just goes to show you what a college education is worth these days.
