The readers of USA Today have deemed the Motor City the Best City for Sports in the nation, but really, is anyone surprised?

As USA Today points out,

The Motor City lives up to its name with its annual IndyCar race at Belle Isle: a two-day event every year, in the early summer. On top of that, fans have all the classics with the Lions, Tigers, Red Wings, and Pistons all hosting top-notch action throughout the year.
Detroit's not the only Michigan-city recognized for its sports enthusiasm.

Ann Arbor came in at seventh place.

Ann Arbor is home to the largest football stadium in the world, aptly dubbed “The Big House," and it has a lot more than just college football on its menu. Manchester United and Real Madrid drew in a crowd of over 100,000 for a midsummer pre-season soccer match this year. Outdoor hockey matches for college leagues and the NHL also pull in similar numbers.
