MHacks IV starts tonight at 7 p.m. at 1301 Michigan Avenue, on the University of Michigan campus, Ann Arbor.

The 36-hour hackathon promises to bring together the brightest minds from the college's campus as well as some from across the region. Hackers will work almost continuously throughout the time period, working to take their ideas for websites, apps, and software from a concept to a working project. Over 100 mentors will be present to help hackers make their way through their projects. Once the hackathon ends, the works will be put on display and judged. First place will be awarded with prizes as well as Major League Hacking standing points that will come in handy later on during the season.

Major League Hacking (owned by Dell) puts on about 50 of these hackathons every year. Apart from these intense competitions, they also connect students with mentors in the field.

Throughout the 36-hour period, several speaks will also make appearances including Reddit co-founder and YCombinator Partner, Alexis Ohanian and Grace Choi, CEO of Mink.
