Recycled Treasures calls on artists to make chairs

Posted By on Fri, Feb 21, 2014 at 8:00 AM

Recycled Treasures, a Hamtramck non-profit resale shop, is looking for artists to donate art to auction for their Second Annual Chair Affair event on March 28. Proceeds go to the non-profit's Beds for Kids Project, which hooks needy children living in the 48212 zip code up with mattresses.

Recycled Treasures is looking for artists to submit either refurbished chairs or any kind of art made from recycled materials. The entries will be judged, with a $50 cash grand prize. All participating artists will receive a $20 gift card to Recycled Treasures.

Applications for artists can be picked up at Recycled Treasures starting on Feb. 21. They can also be picked up at the shop's grand reopening party on March 21 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Refreshments will be available.

Recycled Treasures is located at 12101 Joseph Campau, Hamtramck.
