Detroit's Water System Infrastructure is Causing Some Problems

The infrastructure of Detroit's water system put on quite a show yesterday: A 30-inch water main erupted and flooded a southwest Detroit neighborhood. By WXYZ's tally, that brings the total number of active breaks to nearly 130.

The leaks came at a time suburban leaders are working to solve the metaphorical puzzle that is Detroit Emergency Manager Kevyn Orr's wish to spin-off the water department to a regional authority. The Freep reports, leaders from Wayne, Macomb and Oakland counties held a study session to work out their issues, which, based on previous coverage, has not progressed since last year whatsoever.
