Valentine's Day, the equal parts loved and hated "Hallmark Holiday," is fast approaching, but Detroiters still looking for a hot Feb. 14 date may be in luck.

The folks over at the consumer advocacy site Nerd Wallet recently conducted a study and found Detroit to be one of the best cities in the U.S. for singles.

Nerd Wallet looked at several things to come up with the ranking including the percentage of the population that is unmarried, the number of bars and restaurants per 1000 residents, the city's walkability, the cost of a date, and the unemployment rate.

Detroit ranked first in the number of available singles at a whoppin' 77% and fourth overall.
