What's a church without an organ?

The First Congregational Church in Saginaw is currently engaged in the revitalization of its historic E.M. Skinner pipe organ and it needs your help.

They say, "This instrument, Opus 751, has been a vital part of our community's culture since its dedication in 1929. Other than routine maintenance and cleaning, the organ remained untouched for 30 years until it was enlarged, mid-1060's, during an "organ reform" movement that caused several unsympathetic changes."

"Following a fire in our sanctuary in the early 1970's that destroyed the original console and Echo chamber, a new console was built. Mechanical problems have plagued the organ for several years resulting from deterioration of leather, the buildup of dirt and residue, and less than sterling craftsmanship after the 1973 fire."

The church is aiming to raise a whopping $500,000. To get involved, visit their website.
