Indie music artist and Metro Times cover story subject Tunde Olaniran was supposed to celebrate a record release show for his sophomore album, Stranger, this weekend. However, the artist took to social media today to announce the show has been postponed until a later date.

The show was to be held at Cristo Rey High School gymnasium in partnership with Detroit music venue El Club and Olaniran's label Magic Wheel. The event was slated to feature Detroit artists Ahya Simone, Asante, and Bevlove on the lineup. However, Olaniran announced today that the show has been canceled until further notice, citing allegations of misconduct regarding El Club's owner and general manager. Olaniran's statement is below.

On Wednesday, El Club owner Graeme Flegenheimer announced he was stepping down in a since-deleted Facebook post. Olaniran and Flegenheimer declined to comment, although Olaniran says El Club agreed to pay the guarantee for all of the artists and will refund all tickets. A rescheduled date has not yet been announced.

Updated Friday, Nov. 9: Will Sessions also moved its Friday show from El Club to the Magic Stick, citing the allegations. The statement is below.
