Alex Chilton's songs have always been eminently coverable, throughout the Memphis singer and producer's rocky and storied career. Tonight at PJ's Lager House, local rockers, folksters and lovable weirdos will tackle his material with aplomb and energy, and you should go. What else are you doing? It's the Monday after Christmas, and you already saw that movie. 

Billed as ALEX CHILTON'S BIRTHDAY PARTY w/ TRIBUTES FROM JAY CLARK REID, THE DIRK KROLL BAND, THE DIVES FT. DAVID BIERMAN, AND CHRIS RICHARDS, that's a lot of talent, and capital letters. Doors are at 9 p.m. and it's only $5.
