Any fans of J. Dilla and the classic Slum Village trio of Baatin, T3, and Dilla will appreciate this recently unearthed clip. It's been making the internet rounds for the past few days only but probably dates back to 2000 or 2001. I'll let you know if I get more info, but for now, just revel in a very intimate look at Slum Village amidst sound check in California as Dilla programs his drum machines, rides to Radio Shack for more equipment, and is the very (un) superstar who's more concerned about his music sounding right than how he looked. What a rare concept these days. Enjoy.
